HISTORY: The world of the Young Protectors series is similar to modern day earth. Same pop culture, same technologies for the most part, same sociological problems.

Some of the biggest differences are as follows:

Magic is Bad — Anyone can use it with training in the correct rituals and lots of mental practice. The problem is the more you use it, the more quickly you will go insane. No practicing magic-user remains mentally competent for long, and so it is a very stigmatized practice. The only exception to this rule is Spooky Jones, paranormal detective extraordinaire, and The Platinum Priestess, an "immortal" villain that's been around since the beginning of humanity.

Aliens Exists — Earth was contacted by extra-terrestrials (at some point?? I don't think we have the date yet). Most of their technology and knowledge, however, is coveted by the US government for military purposes. Such technologies are unknown to the common civilian.

Mutants Exist, Too — Mutations began to appear in humans during the 60s and 70s, creating extraordinary powers like pyrokinesis, telepathy, super strength, etc. In the beginning, these humans were discriminated against. It spawned some of the first super villains, which then required super heroes to stop them.

The government eventually created ExTeams. These teams were sanctioned to thwart super humans and other supernatural/paranormal issues. This also includes a junior division for teenagers, too. They are limited to search and rescue missions, as well as natural disaster relief.

Oh, and Hell is Coming — Unbeknownst to most, the barrier between earth and Hell is deteriorating and soon there will be nothing and no one that can keep the Kings of Hell from destroying humanity. The Platinum Priestess and Spooky Jones are the only two who understand the seriousness of the earth's predicament. Both have very different ideas about how to save earth from this apocalypse.

Kyle Conlen is the main character of an LGBTQ-friendly super hero comic called The Young Protectors. He has little knowledge of where he comes from, only recently discovering his father is a King of Hell and that makes him a Prince of Hell. His mother is an unknown and that's put him in foster care all his life.

When Kyle turns twelve his powers come to light in the worst way. Masturbating in his room for the first time unleashes his unrevealed fire powers. He burns down his foster parents' house and burns his foster sister badly. After this terrible discovery, he has been bouncing from foster home to foster home.

Despite these setbacks, Kyle has dedicated his life to helping those in need. His life will never be a normal one, but he doesn't let that stop him from giving to others. So, he tries joining several regional ExTeams (teams of extraordinary men and women who dedicate their time and lives to helping civilians and thwart evil); however, all of them reject him out of concern for the psychological trauma he experienced at twelve.

There is one team that gives him a shot, though: The Young Protectors led by Amanda. Along with Spooky, Paul, Gordon, and Mitchell, they represent a team of underage heroes that work strictly as search and rescue. Kyle has found long-lasting friends in these junior heroes. Even still, there are things about himself he doesn't feel strong enough to admit to.

Kyle is gay and alone in his secret. He lives as a closeted man, only venturing once into gay culture when he sneaks into a LGBTQ-friendly bar. It's then that his life changes forever. He runs into The Annihilator, one of the world's first and most notorious super villains on earth. The man lets him off the hook under one condition: a kiss. It's Kyle's first and it seems more like a cliché romance novel than real life, especially when The Annihilator (also known as Duncan) continues to show up in his life.

He wraps Kyle around his finger with promises of love and trust, and the most important thing of all – the ability to withstand Kyle's fire powers. Under the guise of love conquering all obstacles between hero and villain, on Kyle's eighteenth birthday they meet in one of Duncan's safe houses to consummate their love. Unfortunately, it doesn't exactly go as planned. With his complete trust in Duncan's hands he uses Kyle to open a portal to Hell. Yup, a portal to Hell. The strength of his powers when he orgasms, coupled with his demonic blood, creates a tear in the fabric of their reality to allow Duncan to meet with Laampros, a King of Hell and also Kyle's father.

The entire thing, from first kiss to first time, was a set up to broker a deal with Laampros. If he would grant Duncan immortality and youth, Duncan will offer him the world on a silver platter. Eventually it is agreed to, and Kyle is left naked and betrayed on a burnt bed. He puts in a call to Paul to come and pick him up. Using Mitchell's flying powers, Paul, Spooky, and Mitchell come to his aid and listen to his incredibly depressing story. They formulate a plan to find The Annihilator and thwart his and The Platinum Priestess' earth-ending schemes.

Using a teammate's magical abilities, they locate and stop a Satanic ritual in progress, or so they think. But it all goes awry soon enough. They have left nothing to chance and, after a dozen or more civilians are sacrificed to a portal to Hell, Laampros and his minions cross the magical barrier separating their realms.

Unfortunately, a group of tiny humans are no match for Laampros. He begins to taint Kyle with his Hellfire, unleashing the demon that's been trapped within Kyle all along. Gradually he is reborn physically and mentally, gaining new features and new powers. His father tells him that he is gracing Kyle with his dark gifts and bestowing upon him the pleasures of the earth.

At first it seems like Kyle is beginning to turn on his teammates, but it's all a ruse. He begins siphoning his father's power to drain him at the cost of his own life. Now his teammates can assault Laampros with everything they have and drive him back through the portal to Hell.

In the aftermath, Kyle and Spooky work to revive the people sacrificed for the ritual. The Annihilator is taken into custody by the US military while Spooky leaves to track down The Platinum Priestess.

Kyle is left with newfound confidence in his fire powers and his lifestyle. When the Young Protectors return home, Kyle begins opening himself up to new relationships.

PAST GAME MEMORIES: To help combat a disease that threatened to wipe out life in the multiverse, Kyle volunteered as a guinea pig for the Zenith Corp. to find a cure. Little did the volunteers know, however, that the cure would be found through sexual activity.

Coming in as a newly outed gay man and a virgin, a lot of Kyle's time was spent finding out what he liked. He kept his demonic heritage to himself and made easy friends with "mages" who could control the elements without detrimental side effects. He found one man, Dorian, who could control fire as well. It was the first time he met another fire user and became very interested in the man and the world he came from.

Eventually, though, this picturesque environment that was for the sole purpose of saving the multiverse began to crack around Kyle. A group of volunteers that included many of his friends ended up killing on of the local town's deities against Zenith Corp.'s wishes. When he confronted his friend Dorian about their actions, the man gave him the hard truth about Zenith Corp.: They were being used and the threat to the multiverse might just be a ruse to make them compliant. Kyle was unwilling to believe something so cynical, so Dorian told him he was too naive.

Since then Kyle has had doubts about Zenith Corp.'s true motives, as well as feeling like an idiot for trusting this set up in the first place. However, he continues to do his duty in spite of self-doubt because it is the only purpose he has in this new world. He doesn't like feeling helpless and will find whatever excuse he can to feel purposeful.

PERSONALITY: Like every successful romance novel heroine in history, Kyle has the looks, the personality, and the tragic backstory that makes him a special cinnamon roll too good for this world, too pure.

In spite of his hard life as a foster child and his traumatic experiences at twelve, Kyle remains a very kind and open person. He is always smiling and ready to help his friends. His file in the foster system describes him as "being a cheerful and helpful child." He goes on to dedicate his time and energy toward harnessing his powers so that he can use them to help others. This shows how altruistic and compassionate he is as a person at the young age of twelve. For the next six years, his focus is on those in need in his community. He never wavers in his dedication to humanity.

While he is certainly not ignorant of how cruel the real world can be, there is a naivete about Kyle that is shown throughout his canon and is discussed by his own friends. He is pulled into The Annihilator's world willingly despite all the red alerts. The Annihilator feeds off of Kyle's innocence and his hormonal fantasies that love can conquer all in spite of their differences. After The Annihilator's intentions become clear, one of his team member's warns the others to be careful with how they approach this betrayal with Kyle, because despite being one of the older members Kyle's always been like one of "the youngest" in his demeanor and naivete.

Some of this may stem from his denial about his real self. And, no, not the whole "I am the son of Satan" thing, more the "I am gay" thing. In the very beginning of his canon, Kyle is shown to be a closeted young man. He sneaks into gay clubs without anyone knowing and keeps that part of himself hidden from his friends. It isn't until the catastrophe with The Annihilator that his teammates learn Kyle is gay. Because he has hidden himself for so long, it seems as though he cannot readily judge the character of others well. Coupled with his kindness, he gives the benefit of the doubt to almost everyone.

The only time he is seen being prickly with other characters is when he is interacting with super villains, like The Annihilator and The Platinum Priestess. But even then, Kyle is willing to see a better side of people. His kindness leaves him blinded to The Annihilator's ulterior motives as the older man expresses a softer side to Kyle. And Kyle swallows it hook, line, and sinker.

Yet still, Kyle takes responsibility for his actions like a true hero. From his mistakes and lovesick naivete comes a man focused on undoing the ill he has caused because he is genuine and compassionate. His teammate tells him that he is "one of the kindest, gentlest guys" he's ever met, Satan spawn or no. He is a hero right down to his core that not even his genetics can tarnish.

POWERS/ABILITIES:
HE has the power to control fire. This includes fire manipulation, fire generation, and fire absorption. It also includes heat resistance and cold resistance. Kyle can ignite fire from his hands and feet at will (but it can come from other sources when he loses control, like when he orgasms). The temperature of his fire can reach up to 1093 degrees Celsius. And his powers have a range of 106 meters radius.

He can pull fire from burning buildings and absorb it into himself without pain. Because of this he runs very hot-blooded and is not affected by the cold. He can also transfer his warmth to other people through touch.

Because of his royal demonic blood, Kyle has the following perks as well:

super human strength — Nothing incredibly outlandish. He can break a man's arm, for instance, with a hard strike. He can also easily pick up people and toss them.

shape shift — We know little about this in canon. So far, under the affects of hell fire, Kyle will transform into a demon with horns and wings and fangs. All that jazz. We also know that he has the ability to turn into other people or change his form. If allowed, I'd like to be able to explore this in game with some limitations. He can only shape shift into something of equal humanoid mass. His voice would not change.

empathy — If he focuses, Kyle can sense the emotions of other people around him. He cannot manipulate those emotions in any way. They do not affect him either. I can create an op-out post for those uncomfortable with this.

Trusting — Kyle sees the best in everyone, even when the person can't see it in themselves. He can make friends with just about anyone, and in fact makes friends with the notorious super villain, The Annihilator. When the Annihilator (shockingly) betrays Kyle, he laments over what could have been because of Kyle's genuine compassion and trust he places in those around him.

Compassionate — His best friend comments that Kyle is "one of the most kindest and gentlest" people he's ever met. He never forgets about the well-being and security of those around him; it is important to him, even if some people "may not deserve it." For example, Kyle is thankful The Annihilator saves the lives of two mercenaries hellbent on killing them just moments ago. He also promises to keep government scientists from torturing The Annihilator after he's been captured.

In doing so, it sets off a chain reaction of good deeds that pave a straight path to Hell. Literally.

It's Kyle's first and it seems more like a cliche romance novel than real life, especially when The Annihilator, also known as Duncan, continues to show up in his life.

He wraps Kyle around his finger with promises of love and trust, and the most important thing of all—The ability to withstand Kyle's fire powers. Under the guise of love conquering all obstacles between hero and villain, on Kyle's eighteenth birthday they meet in one of Duncan's safe houses to consummate their love. Unfortunately, it doesn't exactly go as planned. With his complete trust in Duncan's hands he uses Kyle to open a portal to Hell. Yup, a port to Hell. The strength of his powers when he cums and his demonic blood creates a tear in the fabric of their reality to allow Duncan to meet with Laampros, a King of Hell and also Kyle's father.

The entire thing, from first kiss to first time, was a set up to broker a deal with Laampros. If he would grant Duncan immortality and youth, Duncan will offer him the world on a silver platter. Eventually, it is agreed and Kyle is left naked and betrayed on a burnt bed. He puts in a call to Paul to come and pick him up. Using Mitchell's flying powers, Paul, Spooky, and Mitchell come to his aid and listen to his incredibly depressing story.

FIT: As a hero who just fucked up the entire world, Kyle is very much willing to do whatever it takes to fix his mistakes. The problem is, Kyle cannot orgasm without literally burning houses down.
